Protect Yourself During Flu Season

January 11, 2013

Flu season is underway, and Grays Harbor Public Health Director Joan Brewster says that there are some tips to know to stay healthy.

Brewster says the 3 things that residents can do to avoid getting sick are “Wash your hands. Wash your hands. Wash your hands.” In addition, Brewster says that if you are sick, stay home.

With the whooping cough epidemic continuing state wide Brewster also had some advice for steering clear of Pertussis. “Anyone who expects to be around a small infant should definitely have their pertussis shot and that will protect them against pertussis, but most importantly it protects those little babies.”

During flu season, make sure you keep your hands clean and if you are sick stay home from work and keep you and your co workers healthy.
