College Goal Sunday comes to Grays Harbor

January 22, 2013

College Goal Sunday is an effort to help families learn more about paying for college, is happening this month around the State of Washington and more specifically on the Grays Harbor College campus. The local event for high school students and their families in Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties is scheduled from 1 to 4 pm on Sunday, January 27 on the Aberdeen campus.

In addition to workshops and information tables focused on what it takes to go to college, financial aid professionals will be offering help to complete the required forms during the event.

Jeb Thornton, coordinator of the local College Goal Sunday said “Most students these days are relying on financial aid to make attending college possible.”

A list of materials needed to complete the forms appears on the College Goal Sunday website, both in English and in Spanish.

Thornton says he will tell all attendees that “You can go to college. There is money to pay for college and we can help you with the forms.”

For more information, contact Thornton at (360) 538-4022 or jthornto@ghc.edu.
