Counterfeit $100 Bills Recovered Locally

January 23, 2013

Aberdeen Police Officers were called to Safeway this week after a man attempted to pass multiple counterfeit one hundred dollar bills.

According to dispatch reports, the man was attempting to use the bills and when he found out that they were counterfeit and told an employee he would like to turn them over to police.

Aberdeen Police Captain John Green told KXRO that the man did not have any information about where the fake bills originated. The bills all had the same serial number.

Citizens and businesses are cautioned to check any large bills that they receive to ensure that they are legitimate currency.
