PUD Commissioners Take Questions From Protesters
With people showing up to protest their increased PUD bills they were receiving the Grays Harbor PUD Commissioners answered questions from the protesters before their commission meeting yesterday. The PUD passed an 8 percent rate increase for this year but some people were saying that their bill had doubled or tripled. Commissioner Russ Skolrood says that part of the reason for the rate increase was to get away from debt financing.
The commissioners also urged people to use the services they have in place to help people lower their bills including the energy services department which can do an energy audit of your house to see where the could save.
Skolrood and Commissioner Dave Timmons each shared stories of how energy audits have helped them or people they know as well.
