Grays Harbor Dredging Begins Today

Corps of Engineers to start Grays Harbor maintenance dredging soon.

Grays Harbor’s annual dredging will begin by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Working around-the-clock, crews are scheduled to dredge through May 1. The work is expected to dredge 1.2 million cubic yards of material during the month.

Dredges will place material at Half Moon Bay and South Beach sites as well as Point Chehalis and South Jetty open water disposal sites.

Corps Seattle District officials worked with state and federal agencies and Native American Nations to minimize harm to the ecosystem.
