Grays Harbor Community Foundation Award Nonprofit Grants

The Grays Harbor Community Foundation awarded almost $180,000 in grants in the 2nd Quarter.

After receiving many inquiries about funding for nonprofit grants, the Community Foundation decided to create an application separate from the normal program, where all nonprofits had an opportunity to apply.

The Community Foundation received 22 total applications for a variety of projects. Of these proposals, the committee chose to fund 5 projects for a total of $133,965.

The 7th Street Theatre will be receiving funding towards a new HVAC system, The Polson Museum received funding for their third phase of the Railroad Camp Project, Coastal Harvest received funding for a backup Generator, St. Mary’s School received funding for a new playground, and Montesano Girls Softball Association received funding for purchasing turf for 3 softball fields.

The Grays Harbor Community Foundation also awarded a total of $44,973 to six organizations in their first quarter grants cycle.

The Grays Harbor Community Foundation awarded a grant to Aberdeen School District for instruments in their music program.

Other awardees this grants cycle include the City of Ocean Shores for the Surf and Rescue Team, Dispute Resolution Center for their Parent/Teen Mediation Program, Oakville School District for their Drug and Alcohol Prevention Program, Ocosta School District for their Summer Programs, and Save the Children for Early Steps to School Success in Lake Quinault and Taholah.
