Target Zero Task Force increase effort to stop DUI

June 20, 2013

DUI continues to be the number one factor in traffic fatalities and serious injury statewide as well as here in Grays Harbor.

As the holiday weekend approaches, nine local law enforcement agencies will be participating in a statewide effort to crackdown on these impaired drivers. Over the next 2 weeks overtime patrols will be conducted throughout Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties, as well as statewide.

At the beginning of this month, officers participating in the Click It or Ticket program issued over 150 violations in their first weekend alone including DUI and Driving While Distracted.

These and all extra local patrols are part of Grays Harbor Target Zero whose goal is to end traffic deaths and serious injuries in Washington by 2030.

Extra patrols will continue into July in Grays Harbor looking for impaired drivers.
