Grays Harbor PUD audit clean for 13th year

August 16, 2013

The Grays Harbor PUD announced that they received news this week from the Washington State Auditors conference that, for the thirteenth consecutive year, both their Accountability Audit and Financial Statement Audit were free of any findings.

“We’re very proud of the long string of clean audits,” said Commission President Russ Skolrood. “It’s an indication of the hard work of a lot of people, especially our Chief Financial Officer Doug Streeter.”

According to the auditor’s report, the District’s internal controls were adequate to safeguard public assets.

The audit of the district happens annually, and the report went on to say “The past 13 audits, including the current audit, are free of findings. This reflects the District’s commitment to maintain a strong financial system with sufficient internal controls.”

“I am very pleased with the results of the audit,” said Streeter. “I think the report shows the dedication that all employees have to protecting the ratepayers of Grays Harbor.”

The audit, which covered the 2012 fiscal year, examined the citizen concern, general revenue, billing, energy rebate program, and many other categories.
