Satsop Business Park: More than Meets the Eye

September 6, 2013

After months of rumors and gossip, the Port of Grays Harbor have officially confirmed that they are looking to bring the movies to Grays Harbor.

Executive Director Gary Nelson announced that Paramount Pictures has expressed interest to film portions of the upcoming Transformers: Age Of Extinction locally.

Nelson said “It is exciting to have our facilities potentially featured in a major motion picture, but the real excitement is in the economic boost this will deliver to regional businesses. “

According to Nelson, a local construction company would be working with Paramount on set development and a local restaurant would provide catering services.

In May, Savory Faire in Montesano announced that they had catered an event for the location scouts as they looked at the park.

Alissa Shay, Manager of Business Development at Satsop Business Park, told KXRO in May that “We’ve had interest from a few major Hollywood movie studios so we worked to get ahead of the curve and put together a fee structure and policy for filming at the Park”

The film is set four years after the previous film, with Mark Walhberg in the lead role. The film is set for release on June 27, 2014.

Filming for the film is already underway across the United States, including locations this week in Chicago.

Which sections of the Satsop Development Park would be utilized, which actors would be in Grays Harbor, and how prominent these scenes would be are not currently known.
