Nirvana and Melvins exhibit at Aberdeen Museum of History
A new exhibit at the Aberdeen Museum of History honors local music.
The museum now has a display inside that specifically pays tribute to local bands Nirvana and The Melvins.
Items in the exhibit include the couch that Kurt Cobain slept on when he lived with the Shillinger family, items and notes that have been left by visitors from all over the world, Melvins and Nirvana t-shirts, and numerous other items.
Photos can be taken while sitting on the couch for a donation to the Museum, which will be used for the Aberdeen Music Experience exhibit.
The gift shop also has new books added as well as posters and CDs, some signed by former Nirvana drummer Aaron Burckhard.
Museum Director Dan Sears told KXRO that the exhibit will be updated periodically with new items and a focus on other local bands.
