Stolen City of Aberdeen work truck recovered

November 7, 2013

Last Friday, just before 3 pm, Aberdeen Police were called after a City of Aberdeen work truck was reported stolen as it sat parked outside a downtown business.

The city truck was parked in the 200 Block of W. Market St. while a city employee went into a store. According to APD, the employee forgot to take the keys to the truck with him when he went into the store.

The employee was in the store only a short time and when he walked out he found that the tan 2001 Chevrolet Extended cab truck was gone.

On Wednesday morning, Aberdeen Police received a call from a resident that a City of Aberdeen truck was parked in front of his house for a few days. The vehicle description matched the stolen truck and it was returned to the City of Aberdeen.

A wrench set was reported stolen from the truck.

Anyone with any information about the theft is asked to Aberdeen Police Department at 533-3180 or the tip line at 538-4450.
