Election results show few changes as more ballots are counted

November 15, 2013

Few changes have come after the most recent count of Grays Harbor election ballots.

Over 18,000 ballots have been counted by the Grays Harbor County Auditor’s Office, representing a 48% voter turnout.

John Smith has narrowed the gap between himself and Tawni Andrews for Smith’s Aberdeen City Council seat. 9 votes still separate Andrews and the incumbent Smith, 203-194.

Current Aberdeen City Councilman Alan Richrod has gotten slightly further away from catching former City Councilman John Erak, who held the seat prior to his death in June. After the recount, 27 votes now separate Richrod from his predecessor.

William Adams has gained the lead over Carl Jackson for a Taholah school district seat, earning 1 extra vote and putting him in the lead 50-49.

Ballots will be counted again today, and certified on November 26th.
