“The Legend of John Tornow” comes to Mary M. Knight
The 100th anniversary of the death of John Tornow will bring historians to Grays Harbor to share their stories.
Tornow was killed in April, 1913 after a manhunt.
On Saturday, November 23, at 2 pm, residents are invited to the Mary M. Knight gymnasium to tell their stories to keep the legend of Tornow alive.
Memorabilia and artifacts from the local investigation will be on hand. Books, DVDs, clothing and even lighted shot glasses will be for sale, which organizers describe as “excellent Christmas gifts”.
The anniversary celebration is presented by the John Tornow Historical Committee.
In April of this year, a memorial by the Committee was erected 27 miles up the Wynoochee Valley Rd honoring the victims of Tornow.
