Cosmopolis install lights at school zone

November 21, 2013

Street lights have been installed in Cosmopolis, and they’re almost working.

At Wednesday’s City Council meeting, Public Works Director Darrin Raines spoke about the new lights installed near the Cosmopolis Elementary School. Even though the lights have been flashing, it hasn’t been when they need to be.

Raines said that until they adjust the lights and configure the software that runs them, drivers may notice that it is warning of students after 9 pm, but this will be adjusted as they adapt to the new lights and their software.

Police Chief Casey Stratton reminds drivers to be aware of the lights, and that fines double in school zones.
