Rediviva opening tonight in Aberdeen

After 6 months of construction and planning, Rediviva opens tonight in Downtown Aberdeen.

In June 2012, Mallard’s Bistro closed their doors following the death of its owner. Early this year, Chef Andy Bickar began plans to revive the location at 118 E Wishkah St. with a new look.

The restaurant is filled with elements of Grays Harbor history, from door handles based on boat cleats, to local art. The restaurant posted to their Facebook page that they are still looking for more from local artists to help showcase the talent in our area. Interested artists are asked to email redivivarestaurant@gmail.com or contact them through Facebook.

Named after the ship that Captain Robert Gray was on when he discovered Grays Harbor, the Columbia Rediviva, the name is Latin for “revived”.

Bickar had previously served as Executive Chef of the Ocean Crest Resort before that restaurant was destroyed by fire in June of 2011.

Opening their doors this weekend for the first time, the restaurant already has been filled with interest and reservations.
