Junction City body now identified as female

The Washington State Patrol is investigating a possible fatality hit and run on Highway 12 in Junction City. According to Trooper Russ Winger, a body was found near Copland Rd. The death is being investigated as a possible fatality hit and run, and the accident may have occurred as early as Monday night.

First identified as a man, in an updated report, the WSP says that the unidentified body is a woman. Age and identity are not currently known.

Eastbound traffic was partially blocked as the investigation was being conducted. The Department of Transportation was on scene to direct traffic.

It is still in the early stages of the investigation. There are currently no suspects.
