Snow will continue through today before warming up
Light snow and freezing drizzle expected through Tuesday.
Clouds increased over Western Washington overnight as weak onshore flow started pushing warmer and moister air over the top of the cold air mass currently over Western Washington. This will continue today and tonight with light snow at times over all areas except right along the coast this afternoon.
The warm air will slowly erode the cold air Washington tonight into Tuesday night. As this happens, the precipitation will change from light snow to light drizzle with the possibility of some freezing drizzle during. This will begin along the coast later today into tonight then spread over the interior during the day on Tuesday into Tuesday evening. The cold air mass should be completely eroded by Tuesday evening ending the threat of freezing and frozen precipitation over the lowlands.
Precipitation will be light. Snow accumulations of less than an inch are possible over most of the area through Tuesday.
A return to more normal temperatures in the 40s is expected on Wednesday with rainy and breezy conditions on Thursday.
