Pacific County phone service repaired

December 18, 2013

Telephone service has been fully repaired in Pacific County after a widespread outage was reported on Tuesday.

Pacific County saw a wide-spread but sporadic telephone outage, with residents and businesses next door to each other experiencing differing levels of service.

According to Emergency Management, all 911 cell phone calls were routed to Grays Harbor. All call information was then relayed by radio to Pacific County E911.

Emergency Management said, “Pacific County E911 would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Grays Harbor Communications! The assistance provided by Grays Harbor E911 was invaluable and greatly appreciated“

CenturyLink was able to find the cause of the outage as a fiber optic line cut near Vader. Repairs were made, test calls were conducted, and services were returned to normal late Tuesday.
