Sleeping bag stolen at knifepoint

Aberdeen Police are looking for a suspect after a woman was threatened under the Chehalis River Bridge.

Aberdeen Police responded after they received a call about an argument coming from under the bridge where a man was yelling at a woman.

Officers contacted a 44 year old transient woman inside an alcove of a building in the 300 block of East State Street. She told Aberdeen Officers that she was approached by a Hispanic man who demanded her sleeping bag. The victim told officers that he displayed a knife and then took her sleeping bag and pillow and fled on foot.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, in his 40’s to early 50’s, 5-06, over 200 pounds last seen wearing dark baseball cap, brown jacket, and black shoes.

Officers checked the surrounding area and recovered the sleeping bag and pillow.

The suspect was not located.

The investigation is continuing.
