High wind warning in effect

January 10, 2014

A high wind warning is in effect until 4 am Saturday morning and a high wind watch will remain in effect through Saturday evening.

The north and central coast of Washington will be impacted including Westport and Ocean Shores. Strong and potentially damaging winds 35 to 45 MPH with gusts up to 65 MPH are forecast to occur tonight. Winds reaching 30 to 40 MPH and gusts up to 60 MPH are likely Saturday afternoon and evening.

Downed trees and power outages are likely.

A high wind watch means there is potential for a damaging wind event and a high wind warning means a hazardous wind event is imminent or occurring.
