Grays Harbor College to hold free FAFSA event
Anyone looking to get one-on-one help with college Financial Aid have an opportunity this Thursday, January 16th from 6-9 pm in the HUB at Grays Harbor College. College students, high school students, parents of students, and anyone else that needs assistance can get free assistance in completing their FAFSA paperwork, learning about Financial Aid, getting Scholarship ideas and are able to ask questions to trained facilitators one-on-one.
Filling out FAFSA documents and applying for student aid can be very helpful to most families, according to the Grays Harbor Community Foundation, 63% of students receive an average of $7,400 a year to help pay for college. With tuition costs on the rise this funding becomes more important than ever before.

The site has a complete list of the materials you will need to bring with you in order to complete the FAFSA to the best of your ability. There is also a Facebook page which will have up-to-date information on the event and directions. Look for “TRiO Grays Harbor College” to like the event and stay informed.
Also on Thursday, Grays Harbor College will be hosting their annual College Transfer Fair from 10 am to 1 pm in the HUB. Representatives from 17 regional colleges and universities will be participating, including Oregon Institute of Technology, which has not visited the Harbor in many years.
Other schools include Art Institute of Seattle, Central Washington University, the Evergreen State College, Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, St. Martin’s University, Washington State University, and more.
Those interested in learning more about transferring to one of these colleges or universities are encouraged to visit GHC on Thursday.
