Over the weekend, Aberdeen Police were called to the 900 Block of West Wishkah Street after a report of a vehicle vs. skateboarder collision.

Officers found a 17 year old on the ground, was conscious and alert. The teen said that he was in pain after being struck by a car. Aberdeen Fire was called to the scene.

Officers were told that the victim was riding his skateboard in the street when a car struck him, knocking him to the ground. According to APD, witnesses said that the victim may have been in the road when struck.

Officers were told that the driver of the vehicle returned to the scene and allegedly made a statement about not seeing the victim before leaving.

According to a post on Facebook by the teen, the suspect “did not say he didn’t see me, he said “I cant go to jail, you do what you got to do.”

The vehicle was described by police as a silver or gray Ford Mustang with a boxy back end and a headlight out.

The suspect was described as a man with a “scruffy beard”, wearing a baseball hat at the time.

The victim was treated at Grays Harbor Community Hospital for abrasions and contusions.
