Hoquiam man arrested for child pornography
The Washington State Patrol, Missing and Exploited Children’s Task Force, and Hoquiam Police Department arrested a man for possessing a large amount of child pornography and sharing it online.
The 35 year old Hoquiam man was taken into custody without incident last week.
The investigation originated from tips received by Seattle Police and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The file sharing revolved around Tumblr, Kik, and Dropbox.
A search warrant was issued for a Hoquiam residence and a local business in Ocean Shores, where the man worked. Officers arrested the suspect for the investigation of dealing and possessing large numbers of images of sexually explicit conduct involving minors. During the search warrant, detectives seized digital storage from the residence. No images were found on his work computers.
He was booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail on multiple charges of Dealing and Possession of Depictions of Minors Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct.
The investigation is ongoing, with additional charges possible.
