Local broadcasting legend remains in stable condition

February 7, 2014

Longtime Grays Harbor radio personality Rich Daneker is currently in stable condition at a Seattle hospital after suffering a medical event recently, according to his family. Rich Dee, or “The Dee”, as he is known to his many listeners, has been broadcasting on the local airwaves since 1970. He first cracked the mic at KGHO as a part-time air talent while going to Grays Harbor College and the University of Washington.

Rich started broadcasting at KXRO/KDUX, (Grays Harbor Radio Group) in 1982, where he currently performs afternoon drive on KDUX “Classic Rock” and morning fill-in on KXRO Newsradio. Rich is affectionately known to his friends and audience as “the Friend of Those Who Want No Friends” and “Part-time Dress Makers Dummy.

Cards and letters of well wishes can be sent to Grays Harbor Radio, Attn: Rich D., 1308 Coolidge Road, Aberdeen Wa. 98520.
