Grays Harbor 2020 prepares for community update

February 11, 2014

A calendar put together by Grays Harbor Vision 2020 (2020) has been sent to the printers prior to their community meeting in March.

The non-profit group scheduled an update on their progress at a community forum March 11th in Aberdeen at Aberdeen High School. The Board of Directors will report on progress achieved by the group and work with the community to shape their 2015 Action Plan Update.

Established in 2008, 2020 says that they have completed 80 out of their 120 original goals.

From 2007-2010, community volunteers generated over 2,000 ideas and suggestions for making Grays Harbor a more sustainable place to live work and play. 2020 focused those ideas into 120 specific actions designed to improve our economy, preserve our natural environment, expand social and cultural offerings and promote our unique spaces and places.

2020 used Portland based firm Mad Bird Design to develop the calendar.

The March 11th forum will begin at 5:30, followed by a brief presentation and community discussion about future priorities.
