Elma and Aberdeen Police shooting investigations merge

February 13, 2014

A shooting victim in Aberdeen may be directly connected to a shooting in Elma.

On Saturday morning, Elma Police were called after a resident told them that someone was prowling his car. The resident said that he fired on the prowler and believed that he hit the man.

Shortly after the shooting, Aberdeen Police were called when a 29 year old Aberdeen man said he had been walking on Simpson Avenue, heard a “pop”, and realized he’d been shot.

APD Sergeant Art Laur said, “Our investigation has determined that the victim in this case was not shot in Aberdeen.“

Elma Police Chief Jeff Troumbley told KXRO that they were able to make the connection to their report this week.

The man was transported to the Grays Harbor Community Hospital and treated for his injury, but has since been released.
