6th annual GHC Mystery Getaway
The Grays Harbor College Foundation hosts its 6th annual Mystery Getaway fund-raising event on Thursday evening, February 20, starting at 6 p.m. at the HUB on the GHC campus in Aberdeen.
As with previous events, at the end of the evening, one person will be going on a three-day vacation for two, with the destination only to be announced that evening. Previous winners have gone to Seattle, San Francisco, Las Vegas, San Diego and Palm Springs. The trip includes round-trip airfare for two, hotel accommodations for three nights, $500 spending money, and great memories.
“This year’s trip is even more exciting. Each year, our winners have traveled farther from the Harbor,” exclaims GHC Foundation Executive Director Jan Jorgenson. “We know the 2014 winner will be very surprised.” She expressed appreciation to the Foundation’s partner, Jenee Beardon of Journey Travel for her support of the travel arrangements.
An annual fund-raiser for the Foundation’s World Class Scholars program, tickets are $50 a person, which includes hors d’oeuvres, beverages and an opportunity to win the trip.
The GHC Foundation Board is hoping to complete a $1 million endowment for the World Class Scholars program, which rewards Twin Harbor high school students. Those who qualify receive a scholarship for their first year at GHC. The first class of World Class Scholars graduated from high school in 1999.
