Harbor Paper: Sold
$13 for a drill to $41,000 for a bulldozer, Harbor Paper is no more. Over 1000 lots were sold yesterday to the highest bidders at the Quinault Beach Resort and Casino.
The auction included everything from furniture, tools, to the vehicles on the property. “Lot 1” in the auction was Harbor Paper in its entirety; with a starting bid of $5,000,000. There were no bidders at that price.
At the end of the day, over $960,000 was spent by bidders.
Over 1400 lots in all were on the official bid sheet, many of which were grouped together at the auction.
Portions of the historic mill that did not get auctioned off will be sold for scrap before the entire facility is removed, leaving only the land owned by Rayonier.
Hoquiam City Administrator Brian Shay says that he expects another business on the lot within 5 years following the demolition of the buildings.
