Aberdeen School District training staff on conflict resolution
The Aberdeen School Board passed two policies last night pertaining to conflict resolution.
With a policy for use of reasonable force, as well as one for the isolation and restraint of students, the school board made changes that were handed down from the state level.
The biggest change coming with these policies is the annual training that will come with it for teachers and administrators. Aberdeen Superintendent Dr. Thomas Opstad explained how the training will work; saying that the goal is to “de-escalate” the situation to avoid conflict at the school.
The policies passed unanimously.
