Coast Guard rescues fisherman off Grays Harbor
The U.S. Coast Guard evacuated an injured crewmember from a fishing boat 30 miles west of Grays Harbor on Wednesday.
Coast Guard Station Grays Harbor received a call just after 7 pm last night for a crewmember who had reportedly suffered a head injury aboard the Shirley R.
A life boat from Westport and a helicopter crew from Astoria were launched and the helicopter crew arrived on scene and began hoisting the man at approximately 8:30 pm.
The crewmember was taken to the Bowerman Airport where he was transferred to Grays Harbor Community Hospital in stable condition.
