Information sought on storage unit burglaries

March 20, 2014

The Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office is looking for anyone with information about a series of storage unit burglaries.

Last week, deputies were sent to the Hilltop Storage Company in Junction City for a number of storage units that had been burglarized. The manager said that the lock on three units had been damaged and the burglaries likely occurred sometime during business hours. At this time, a washer and dryer and numerous tools are known to have been stolen.

The next day, deputies responded to the Glenn Road Storage Units in Montesano for more burglaries. The owner discovered that five of the units had different locks on them then what should have been. Only two of the units were currently rented. After cutting the locks, deputies discovered several items missing from the two rented units. The other three units had nothing in them. Items taken include special aviation tools and equipment and parts.

Again it was believed that the burglaries occurred during business hours and the suspects placed the locks on the units to hide the crime.

Anyone with information on these storage unit burglaries is asked to contact the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Department at 360-249-3711, or the Grays Harbor Dispatch Center at 360-533-8765 if after hours.
