Attempted abduction in South Aberdeen

Aberdeen Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping, and looking for the suspect.

Wednesday afternoon, just before 4 pm, Officers responded to the 500 block of W. Huntley when a 10 year old girl said that a man had tried to take her away.

Investigating officers were told that the girl and her brother stepped off the school bus near their home. As she went to her mail box, she said an unknown man grabbed her and told her to go with him. The victim said that she yelled and hit the man and he fled the area on foot.

The suspect was described as a white male, 5-5 to 5-7, long oily blond hair and a slim build. He was described as wearing a black coat and blue jeans with rips in them, and sandals with blue socks.

A K9 was brought in, the area was canvassed, and the school bus driver was interviewed.

The suspect was not located.
