Happy Nirvana Day Hoquiam

April 10, 2014

The City of Hoquiam is celebrating Nirvana’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tonight by celebrating Nirvana Day.

Mayor Jack Durney talked in December about how the band, whose roots are from Aberdeen, has left a positive impact on all of Grays Harbor.

“They bring great honor, I think as I say, to our entire community. And I think that it’s good Kurt Cobain lived in Hoquiam for a little while, but he and Krist Novoselic are part of our community, and I think it’s good to honor our sons and their great accomplishments.” said Durney.

Nirvana has sold over 25 million albums in the United States and over 75 million world-wide and will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tonight.
