Satsop Business Parking looking for New NewWood
The Port of Grays Harbor is looking for someone to lease the former NewWood facility, and they are expanding their options.
After purchasing NewWood for $1.3 million in December, the Port has yet to find a business to occupy the building.
The Satsop Business Park issued a Request for Proposals this week for businesses interested in the 255,000 square-foot facility and its equipment.
The RFP asks that potential businesses tell them how they would use the location, either making a NewWood product with all of the equipment, making a different product with the equipment, or making something completely different using none of the assets.
Manager of Business Development, Alissa Shay said “With companies recognizing the value of bringing manufacturing jobs back to the US, the Port believes Satsop Business Park is strategically positioned with the facility, the equipment, the workforce and the access to markets to make our partners successful.”
The deadline for submitting a proposal is May 30. Preference will be given to proposals that will create long term employment opportunities within the community.
