Mill Creek Dam repair moving forward
According to the City of Cosmopolis, they are currently working with HDR Engineering on the surveying, scoping, specs and final design to ensure the Mill Creek Dam replacement project is “shovel ready”.
In a release, they said that during the past month, surveyors have been in the park and areas of the seven culverts in preparation for the City to begin the permitting process with the US Army Corps of Engineers, WA State Depts. of Ecology and Fish & Wildlife.
The City of Cosmopolis said, “Much appreciation to the City’s Administration, Councilmembers and Planning Commission for their diligence to see not only that flood protection is restored by replacing the dam, but also the restoration of the recreational aspect of the park that so many have come to appreciate and enjoy.”
The project is on track to start construction next spring, with project completion by September 2015.
