2 confirmed deaths in Aberdeen house fire, both adults
The Aberdeen Fire Department is moving into Phase 3 of their response to an early morning house fire that claimed 2 lives.
First reported to officials as “children”, Battalion Chief Damon Lillybridge tells KXRO that both of the victims of this fire were adults, children of a resident.
The Aberdeen Fire Department received the call about the fire in the 700 block of 8th Avenue around 5 am this morning, and witnesses told KXRO that they could hear residents yelling from inside.
An elderly couple and a woman at the home were able to escape with the help of witnesses who used a ladder to bring the residents out.
Aberdeen Fire Chief Tom Hubbard told KXRO that he wanted to stress the heroics of the residents and police officers that arrived at the home before firefighters. Without their assistance, all in the home may have lost their lives.
