Grays Harbor Raceway season opener pushed back
The season opener at Grays Harbor Raceway, scheduled for Saturday, was cancelled thanks to late rain before weather cleared up this weekend.
According to the Raceway, heavy rain last week left the track unusable, and they said that the chances of getting the track in good racing condition were unrealistic.
Promoter Steve Beitler said. “The county, track, and maintenance crews have worked very hard to literally rebuild the facility in the last six weeks. There are still some projects that are being completed and when you couple that with the weather it is obvious that we need to move the start back one week”.
The May 17th Season Opener will feature the NW Wingless Sprint Car Tour, the Cut Rate Auto Parts Street Stocks, the USAC Ignite Midgets and the Outlaw Tuners (Hornets).
Gates open at 5:30pm with racing at 7:00pm.
