May 13, 2014

An accident outside of Hoquiam on Monday sent a drunk driver to the hospital.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a 30 year old Aberdeen man was drunk while parked on the side of SR 109 near Grass Creek, facing the wrong direction in his 2001 Mazda 626.

A 56 year old man from Bowling Green, OH was driving north in a 2010 Dodge truck. When he approached Grass Creek, the 30 year old pulled out into traffic, hitting the truck head on.

The truck was sent off the side of the road and into the bushes. The 30 year old driver was transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital for his injuries in the accident. The WSP tells KXRO that he was charged with a DUI.
