Marijuana restrictions continue in Hoquiam
The Hoquiam City Council has closed the book on Marijuana businesses, at least for now.
The Council voted down yet another proposal that would have lifted the ban on Marijuana business in town with a vote of six to six.
Councilman Darrin Moir said that the city should not jump to approving this industry since not all federal agencies are approving of Washington and Colorado’s legalization of cannabis.
Councilman Richard Pennant said the city was missing an opportunity.
Multiple people from the public commented in support of Marijuana business both before and after the vote.
