Olympia teen holds high speed chase through Ocean Shores
A 16 year old Olympia teen in a stolen vehicle led Ocean Shores Police Officers on a high speed chase throughout downtown and onto the beach before being arrested.
A call came into the Ocean Shores Police Office earlier in the afternoon saying that a vehicle was stuck in the sand. Sergeant Don Grossi responded, but the vehicle was not on the beach, although a vehicle matching the description was seen leaving the beach approach as Sergeant Grossi was arriving on scene. Officers found that it was reported stolen out of Olympia.
A short time later, Sergeant Grossi found the same vehicle on the beach spinning circles near the Damon Road beach approach. Sergeant Grossi caught up with the suspect before they drove off at high speeds, leading officers on a high speed chase throughout the downtown area and the beach.
When the chase ended, 2 juveniles got out and ran into the dunes. Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Department responded with a K9 and one of the two suspects was arrested without incident and booked into the Grays Harbor Juvenile Detention.
The second suspect, also a juvenile, got away but has been identified and a case will be submitted to the Grays Harbor Prosecutor for charges.
