Lake Sylvia to close for kids-only fishing event

May 16, 2014

Lake Sylvia will be closing, unless you’re a child.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife say that on Friday June 6, Lake Sylvia will be closed from 6 am until Saturday June 7 as the lake prepares for a kids only fishing derby.

They said that the closure is necessary to ensure a safe and successful event and fish will be planted the evening prior so they can acclimate to the lake.

Organizers expect around 350 kids for the event. Lake Sylvia is open year-round with the exception of this closure.
