Local teens place high at Miss Washington’s Outstanding Teen

2 Grays Harbor teens placed in the top ten at the Miss Washington’s Outstanding Teen program over the weekend.

28 contestants competed over the weekend at the Highline Performing Arts Center in Burien.

Miss Grays Harbor’s Outstanding Teen McKenzie Brooks was named 2nd Runner Up for the title, receiving a $1000 scholarship.

Brooks said along with the finish, she also had the highest scoring interview at the event.

Former MGHOT Erin Kuhn, competing as Miss Olympic Peninsula’s Outstanding Teen, also placed within the top ten.

Miss Sun Valley’s Outstanding Teen Tayler Plunkett was named as the 2014 Miss Washington’s Outstanding Teen and was awarded a $5,000 scholarship and a prize package of more than $7,000 for her year of service.

Miss Washington’s Outstanding Teen is an official preliminary of the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen.
