June 5, 2014

The Aberdeen School Board has set their timeline for filling a vacancy on the board.

The board has announced a special meeting to interview candidates seeking appointment. The Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2nd, in the Community Room at Aberdeen High School.

The Board will interview up to five candidates for the vacancy created by the resignation of Doug Smith, who moved out of the area. The deadline to submit an application is 4 p.m. on Friday, June 20th.

All interested persons are encouraged to apply. Letters should include a brief biography, information about training, interests, experience on policy boards, community and/or school activities and availability to attend regularly scheduled meetings, participate in workshops and review study materials.

The interviews will be open to the public and the Board expects to make a decision at the July 15th meeting.

Application packets are available through the Superintendent’s Office at 216 North G St. and for more information, you can call the Superintendent’s Office at (360) 538-2002.
