Accident sends 3 South Bend residents to hospitals

June 23, 2014

According to the Washington State Patrol, a medical emergency may have caused a man to drive off the road Saturday morning sending everyone inside a van to the hospital.

WSP tells KXRO that the 56 year old South Bend man was driving north on SR 101, around 9 miles north of Raymond in a van with a 32 year old woman and a 7 year old girl.

As they were driving, something caused the man to cross the southbound lane, hitting a tree off the side of the road.

The van was totaled at the scene and the driver was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center. The 32 year old woman and 7 year old girl were both taken to Willapa Harbor Hospital with injuries.

No charges are pending.
