22 year old Aberdeen woman survives after being stabbed over 10 times
The Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office told KXRO that a call came in around 10 pm on Tuesday that a man was assaulting a woman outside Grays Harbor City.
When deputies arrived, they found a 22 year old Aberdeen woman who had suffered what Undersheriff Dave Pimentel calls a “brutal beating” as well as numerous stab wounds. Pimentel says that the exact number was not known, but it was “in the teens.”
The woman was taken to Grays Harbor Community Hospital for her injuries, and was able to tell Deputies that she was called by a 19 year old Hoquiam teen who said that he “had a surprise for her”. The teen is the uncle to the woman’s child.
The man and woman were driving outside of Grays Harbor City along with a 48 year old Aberdeen woman when the teen asked that the car pull over, and the woman says that’s when he attacked. The woman was able to get out of the car, but the teen chased her and began to stab her.
Deputies found the 19 year old and took him into custody, where Pimentel says he confessed to trying to kill the woman.
He is currently booked into Grays Harbor County Jail.
Anyone who may have witnessed the alleged assault or knows any more information is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Brad Johansson at (360) 249-3711 X1723.
